Online gambling agent, bodyguard charged with man’s murder in Melaka


MELAKA: An online gambling agent and a bodyguard were charged at the Magistrate's Court in Ayer Keroh here with the murder of a scrap metal shop manager.

The charge against Patrick Chu Chee Guan, 36, and A. Deebanahsok, 27, was read before magistrate Mazana Sinin on Monday (May 22).

Based on the charge sheet, the duo had allegedly murdered M. Sandrasekeran, 33.

The offence was allegedly committed at Jalan 3/25, Taman Kenanga in Melaka Tengah district between 3.30am and 4.30am on May 9.

The charges were framed under Section 302 of the Penal read together with Section 34 that carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.

The court fixed June 30 as the next mention date for the submission of documents and for the pleas to be recorded.

No bail was granted.

It was reported on May 10, that the manager was allegedly stabbed to death over a lewd remark made on a 26-year-old.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said the 33-year-old man from Bukit Rambai here died at about 4.30am on May 9 at Melaka Hospital while receiving treatment for stab wounds on his chest.

He said a fiery spat erupted when the victim made the sarcastic comment on the woman when she entered a roadside stall in Taman Kenanga on May 9 to have a meal with her boyfriend and bodyguard.
